The Balboa Park
Balboa Park features a wide variety of great entrainment including the world famous San Diego Zoo, museums, gardens, and public golf courses. This park is considered to be one of the best in the world containing the Starlight Bowl Outdoor Theatre, the Japanese Friendship Garden and of course, spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.
On of Balboa Park's most famous attractions is the one and only zoo. The San Diego Zoo started out small with just over 50 animals in 1916, but since then it has grown to be one of the largest in the world! The Zoo, which was founded by Dr. Harry Wedefoth in Balboa Park, is now home to over 4,000 animals, many of which are on the endangered species list. The San Diego Zoo is obviously a great place to visit if you're on a family vacation, but it can also be loads of fun for adults! The San Zoo also operates the Center for Reproduction of Endangered Species, where Hua Mei, a panda cub was born in captivity. Make sure to strap on some comfy shoes because you're going to be walking an awful lot!
